Contract Okayed For Rail Spur Into Industrial Park
The Southeast Georgia Regional Development Authority let the contract for building the rail spur into the Pierce County Industrial Park Wednesday afternoon, February 23.
Adams-Warnock was the successful bidder on the project. Matt Carter, executive director of the Pierce County Industrial Development and Building Authority and a member of the SGRDA, said that Adams-Warnock was the low bidder of four bidders on the project.
Adams-Warnock also will lease land from the SGRDA to provide rail to other tenants in the Pierce County Industrial Park.
The project is being funded with a OneGeorgia grant and by the RDA, which is a four-county joint development authority comprised of Jeff Davis, Appling, Bacon and Pierce. Pierce County joined the joint development authority in 2018.
